YOU CAN DANCE....AND HELP SAHAYA

The teacher of these classes Ramin Yazdani, a long-term board member of Sahaya International, who has been to our programs at READ several times. This picture shows Ramin with his sponsor-son Pandyan. Ramin is a certified Trance Dance facilitator (International Center for Trance Dance). Ramin's Trance Dance teacher was Wilbert Alex (go to www.trancedance.com to learn more about Trance Dance). Ramin is dedicated to supporting each individual in personal and spiritual transformation to reach their highest potential through shamanic dance. He also apprenticed under the Toltec shaman don Miguel Ruiz, author of The Four Agreements in 1993 and studied in Mexico with Victor Sanchez, author of The Teachings of Don Carlos. He has been teaching at the U.C. Davis Experimental College since 1995 and has facilitated hundreds of workshops for individuals in search of personal growth and transformation. Ramin has a PhD in Civil & Environmental Engineering from U.C. Davis and conducts research in the field of bioenergy, renewable energy, composting, and organic waste management. FREE SPIRIT DANCE When and where? Weekly every Thursday from 5:20 to 6:10 pm at Fiesta Dance N' Fitness at 915 third Street Davis, CA 95616. Classes continue also throughout the upcoming Holiday/Christmas/New Year season. The facilitator is Ramin Yazdani, President of Sahaya Internationa. He has been to our programs at READ several times. What: Come and have fun dancing in a safe environment to meet new friends and share your energy. Free Spirit Dance is a communal dance, celebration, and a moving meditation. Dance creatively together, alone, or with a partner. Music guides the dance, weaving together current, world and classic and spiritual music. No experience needed. This is a good workout! How much?This class has the regular Fiesta Dance N' Fitness fees, including a flexi-card passport that allows you to combine a variety of classes for $6 per class. For the Free Spirit Dance, the instructor's fee will be donated to Sahaya International for their children's programs in India. TRANCE DANCE Come and experience Trance Dance, a unique experience in which through transformational breathing technique, healing sounds, combined with dynamic percussive rhythms and the use of a blindfold you will enter into the a transformative trance state that promotes spiritual awakenings, mental clarity, physical stamina and emotional well-being. Workshops are given the 1st Saturday of every month. Next class: Saturday July 7, from 6:30 pm to 8 pm. (please note: there will NOT be any class in June due to travels of Ramin). All proceeds after subtraction of the facilities use expense (50% of fee per person) are used to pay for the bridge construction, as the teacher volunteers his time. Trance Dance to Build a Bridge At the Mother Teresa School in India the main road to the school floods during the rainy season and 170 children must walk across an adjacent graveyard to reach the school. Come and dance with us to raise funds for the construction of a small bridge for this school in India. Driven by unique musical soundtracks recorded specifically for this method of healing, Trance Dance takes participants on an 'inner journey' not limited to our normal perceptions of space/time. By dancing within the seclusion of darkness, participants discover parallel realities where solutions to seemingly unsolvable problems are possible. Through Trance Dance you disappear, becoming more like spirit, and simultaneously less attached to life's ordinary difficulties, making it possible at these moments to let these problems go.
