Since its inception in 1999, Sahaya has raised nearly 1.2 million dollars. Many thanks to all our generous donors and dedicated volunteers!
As Sahaya is 100% volunteer-run, we have no salary expenses. Our low 4% overhead expenses are fully covered by specific donations by our directors and income from sources such as Goodsearch. Dear Friends,
We are very happy to share with you that the CTK foundation has now officially announced the results of the recent online voting contest of the “Heroes with a Heart” award program. After auditing the results, they have confirmed that Sahaya International received the most votes, and is the winner in the Health and Human Services category. Click here to see the official press release. We are grateful to the CTK Foundation for this honor and recognition, and would also like to express to all nominated volunteers and organizations that participated in the contest, our admiration for their dedication to make this world a better place.
We are glad to have this opportunity for a special THANK YOU to all who voted and/or encouraged friends and relatives to vote. This award is the result of your continued support. YOU DID IT! Each of you is a Hero with a Heart, and we are very proud to have you as part of our Sahaya family. Please share this thanks also with your friends and relatives who helped us.
As promised, we will use the $5,000 grant award to enroll an additional 14 needy orphans in our existing orphan support program in India (which currently has already 219 children and youth). These 14 children will now receive support to meet their basic needs of schooling, food and clothing for one year. We will let you know when we have selected them, as we will create a special web page with their pictures, stories and letters. During the upcoming year, we will do our very best to find individual sponsor-parents for these 14 children so we can continue to help them beyond the one year of this grant award.
Many thanks again to all of you! Also our best wishes to all mothers (including all sponsor-mothers in our Sahaya network) for this upcoming Mother’s Day.
Warm regards and love,
Koen Van Rompay
Founder/Secretary Sahaya International
